The origin
2013In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, students at P.S. 43 picked up cameras.
Vivid Imagination began as a platform for students to document the storm’s impact from their own perspective. Their work earned recognition, but the deeper discovery was even more powerful: when young people are trusted with technology and a real story to tell, they rise.
That experience became Vivid’s blueprint. Give students meaningful access. Let them create, practice, and lead. Make sure the skills travel with them into college, careers, and life.

Our vision is to become a global leader in immersive education technology and future-focused learning ecosystems, empowering schools, districts, organizations, and communities worldwide to prepare learners for the careers of tomorrow. We aim to be the trusted provider of immersive technology solutions that deliver complete innovation pipelines, including instructional programming, curriculum design, hardware and software integration, educator training, and real-world workforce pathways.

Executive Director / CEO
Branden Baskin
Builder. Creator. World Explorer.Branden Baskin is the heart behind Vivid Imagination—a builder, creator, and big-dream believer dedicated to helping young people discover what’s possible. As CEO, he brings his passion for STEM, drones, and immersive technology into classrooms with a spirit of joy, curiosity, and community. A lifelong martial artist and loving father, Branden leads with discipline, compassion, and purpose. His mission is simple: ignite imagination, open doors, and create opportunities for every learner.
Director of Operations
Kelly Butcher
Systems Strategist. Warm-Hearted Wanderer.Kelly Butcher holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in education. She began her career as a computer programmer before answering a calling to nurture young minds, eventually becoming a teacher for future scientists. At Vivid Imagination, she strengthens the processes, systems, and daily operations that allow the organization to focus on inspiring students through innovative, technology-driven learning experiences.
Program Manager
Nicolette Calandra
Educator. Weekend Getaway Guru.Nicolette Calandra brings her passion for teaching and learning to every project she supports. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, grounding her work in both experience and research-based practice. After eight years in the classroom, Nicolette transitioned into program leadership, where she continues to champion strong instruction and joyful learning.
